A Day in the Life: Routine Boarding Visits

Mersey Port Health Authority (MPHA) conduct a risk assessment for each vessel arriving within the jurisdiction of the authority. Once an assessment has been made a boarding visit may be required, these inspections are unannounced so that the officers can see the conditions of the vessel on a normal working day. These inspections are conducted to identify public health risks and determine any potential control measures that may need to be put on vessels to tackle these risks.
